This 3 day program was hosted and organized by Ruchika Social Service Organization and supported by Concern World wide, India and European Union. The pre- rehearsal for the program ABHIVYAKTI with lot of other skillful activities was kicked-off at Koraput Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on 19th November 2012 and continued till 20th November 2012, where 138 Red Ribbon Friends/ Peer Educators participated along with 40 staffs from every partner agency and 41 visitors. The program ended with the final staging of a cultural programme by the children at XIMB auditorium on its 3rd day 21st November 2012.
The objective of the interface was to encourage the peer educators to realize and to highlighting the theme of the World Aids Day- 2012 this year and that is, Getting to Zero- Zero New HIV Infection by providing them a platform to perform, realize their ability as well as support them to hone their existing skills.
Adolescents peer educators, who work towards prevention of HIV, were assessed by partner organization based on their choice of talent. Within these 3 days of adolescent interface the activities mainly focused on mentoring adolescents on, various creative endeavors of their choice; Art, Drama, Photography, Story writing and Song composition for a collective demonstration of their talent by renowned mentors. This event engages adolescents to practice performing arts, having fun and inculcate values of sharing, learning and teamwork along with providing them a platform to showcase their talents. It is expected that the adolescent peer educators on being provided a display place to perform and on receiving positive feedback and encouragement will feel acknowledged and be generally motivated to work better.
ABHIVYAKTI has been a show filled with fun, engaging participants to show off something they are good at and to receive praise for their efforts.
